Hello from France,

In a #1 step, I want to deliver a simple version of my community website, with no 'friends' and 'followers' capabilities.
I will introduce them later on.

I can not see in the backend settings how to hide these 2 items.
For instance, I highlighted 3 locations about 'friends' and 1 for 'My Followers' in the EasySocial dashboard that I would to hide.

Can you help?

Thanks
Henri
Mmmhh ... maybe I have to desactivate the Friends module?

Hi there,

It seems that there are no settings to disable them at backend. But i have some modifications on path below
..../components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/toolbar/default.php
..../components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/dashboard/default/default.php
Can you replaced attached file and see how it goes.

and for your "Easysocial Menu" module, you can disable "Show friends" at Backend>Extension>Module>EasySocial Menu as shown http://screencast.com/t/7FPGIoH8h267

Please give it a try and see how it goes.

Note:
toolbar_default.php is just to differentiate both file. Rename the file to default.

Thanks Abdul

... but you go too fast for me

1. Replacing 2 existing files with your 2 attached files
I understand that I will rename and save the 2 existing files with _bak extension THEN I will import your 2 files, correct?

I don't undertsand your sentence:"toolbar_default.php is just to differentiate both file. Rename the file to default."
What is the impact for me?

2. Menu
For the moment, I don't see any "Module>EasySocial Menu" as you see in my screenshot.
Is that normal because I don't yet import your 2 files?

thanks
Henri

Hi Henri,

I am sorry as i have gone too fast

Yes it is. You should do as stated as if those fixes is not working, at least you can revert back your changes.

I don't undertsand your sentence:"toolbar_default.php is just to differentiate both file. Rename the file to default."

Actually, i just rename those file in order for you to differentiate those file that i have attached to you. As you can see, both file is named "default.php" as you can see on the end of the path i have given earlier. I asked you to rename it again to "default.php" and if you don't renamed it, those fixes wont occur on your site. Sorry for not stating it clearly.

For the moment, I don't see any "Module>EasySocial Menu" as you see in my screenshot.
Is that normal because I don't yet import your 2 files?

Actually, this option you have to go the path that i have stated above --> Backend>Extension>Module>"EasySocial Menu" as shown http://screencast.com/t/4vgvtD1nN and then search your "EasySocial Menu" and disable "Show friends" as shown http://screencast.com/t/SXNVSXBVbnB

Maybe you required more on this issues, maybe you can provide us with your FTP access. Please advice.

Just to precise : I would like to hide anything related to 'Friends', not only the menu, but also 'My Friends', invite to Friends, etc.

Maybe it is more a "switch-off" of the whole feature than hiding menus?

ps: this is a temporary action ... when my members will be more comfortable with the new website, I will introduce them the notion of Friends, Badge and Followers. But it will be a bit too much for them now.

Hi Henri,

One of the our customers have voice this out in our voices pages as you can see here https://stackideas.com/voices/.
Maybe you can vote it https://stackideas.com/voices/easysocial/item/1351 , the more people voted for it as this issues is quite related to your issues, and for current time, it is not possible for you to just "disable" it on your backend . Sorry for any inconvenience.

Based on what you have attached, even though you disabled it, it still shown those feature on your site as those are "modules". Modules are used as add-on to your site and as enhancement for your site. I am sorry for any inconvenience.
