Is it possible in ES 1.3.28 to hide or remove an Event Location's Prov./State & Country from the event's location output? All our events are local so having that extra information isn't really important. I wasn't able to find any language strings to override with regards to location.

Thanks!
Hello Justin,

Ah I am sorry I've missed some of the debug code. Here I attached a new one and it should working fine now. Place it inside your /media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/user/address folder.

Hello Justin,

Did you mean this location: http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-05-14_1125.png ? If so, please replace the attached file in: ../components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/events/item.header.php.

Hi Nik,

I mean hiding state and country - only show address and city (see attached...).

As a follow-up to my above comment, I Have State, Zip and Country set to not display (see attached), but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Thanks.

Hello Justin,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Unfortunately there is no setting to hide some address field in the profile header with the current system. However you can download my attachment below and place it inside your /media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/user/address/themes/default/widgets folder to hide state and country while displaying city adress.

Hi Ezrul,

Thanks for the update! I was hoping this would apply to an Event's address and not for a user's profile. I've included my test site with test event details.

Hello Justin,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Ah I see. Pardon me for my mistake. For the event it's a little bit tricky unfortunately since the address is stored in full address string inside the database, rather than stored with the json string. Hence in order for you to display certain field of the address only, you need to modify the way the address is stored during the event creation and then display it in proper way as array.

The problem is, you need to edit all the event on your site and re-save the address field for each event for this to work. If you don't mind I will proceed with the modification.

Looking forward for your response

Hi Ezrul,

If you could go ahead with the modification ONLY to remove the Country that would be great! We've decided to keep the province and postal code for the time being.

Thanks!

Hello Justin,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

It seems like something is not went well with your MijoFTP component as I am not able to save the change that I've made on your core file. Perhaps you can manually download the attachment below and place it inside your:
1) /media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/user/address/address_1.php
2) /media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/event/address/address_2.php

After replace you have place the file in the location specified, rename both file to address.php. After everything is ok, go to your event page and click on edit event. Save it again and the change should take place when everything is correct.

Keep us updated and see how it goes.

Hi Ezrul,

It seems the address street numbers are removed with the new update and the province is no longer abbreviated as it was before. Probably how Google formats on their end.

Thanks,
Justin

Hello Justin,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Yea it was caused by the how Google reformat the address on their end. Perhaps you could try the following attachment instead and replace it inside your /media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/user/address and then re-save the address and see how it goes.

Hello Justin,

You are most welcome. Glad that your issue has been resolved now. By the way kindly backup the customization to prevent any loss when you perform an update of easysocial.

Hi Ezrul,

I came across a problem when a user registers an account that uses the location field. I've included a sample link that displays the issue in the 'Site Details'.

Regards,
Justin
