So I know that the comment count is controlled by the theme but I need to know if there is a way to hide the comment count when the post's comments have been disabled from within Easyblog.

Version: 3.9.16263
Hello Justin,

I am sorry for the late reply.
I already helps you remove the extra ">" on your site. Is the issue on your site is all resolved now?

Looking forward to hear from you again.

Hello Justin,

I am sorry for the late reply.
I believe this issue is already be fix in the latest version of EasyBlog. Can you update your EasyBlog to the lastest version and see if this issue is resolved. If now you're using the latest version and this issue is still persist, may I know which EasyBlog theme do you used?

Please backup your site first before you update EasyBlog if you have done customization on your site. EasyBlog core files will be override with the latest files. And If after the update, this issue is not resolved, please provide us with backend access and ftp access so that we are able to assist you much quicker. If your site is hosted locally, could you please upload it to a temporary location for us to access?

Please be advise.
Thanks.

That's because it's turned off in the theme so that no comments links show. When you go to take a look login to backend and then Easyblog - Themes - Default and turn show comment link on. You'll need to clear caches as well to see the problem. It's on the homepage and will say "0 comments".

Hello Justin,

I have turn on Show Comments Link = Yes in default theme and Enable comment system = No in EasyBlog settings and the comment link is not visible and does not showing "0 comments". Can you check it for me and see if this issue has resolved or not? If this issue is still persist, perhaps you can provide us with relevant screenshot, so that we are able to assist you on this issue much quicker.

Please be advise.
Thanks.

Ok. The problem appears to be fixed with 0 comments being hidden. All good there. However we are getting extra HTML when there ARE comments. It's displaying an extra >. See the attached screenshot and code snippet:

<span class="blog-comments">&gt;
<a href="/get-success/entry/success-principle-9-take-good-looking-loser-s-life-or-death-test#comments">4 Comments</a>
</span>

Hello Justin,

Seems like you have an extra '>' here: http://screencast.com/t/p8kBbzSF8Ls You might want to remove it.

Yes the > is exactly what I am talking about, but that's in the Komento code not anywhere else. Where would that code be so I can delete the >.
