Hi, I would like to create a profile type 'Private Member' that is hidden from public and other registered users views completely except from their added friends. Any tips on how I can create this profile type?

You may create the profile type here in joomla backend > easy social > profile types > new.
Once you have created the profile type, you may set the user profile as private in your joomla backend > easy social > profile types > select the profile you have just created > privacy shown here in this screenshot http://screencast.com/t/RCADh9otiEYU .
