Hi Stackideas

Can you please help me get all my 800 registered site members into one group?
http://finalbug.net/groups/item/2-bug-all-members
I have attempted to do this but frankly it is next to impossible to do this manually.
I gave up after I got to 399 members and then had new members registering at the same time…
Sorry to say this but the way it is currently set up is insanely difficult.
Maybe a script or something

thanks in advance

Hey Paul,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply,

Unfortunately that was not possible to manually run it for let all your site user join to that group.

But currently you can using this method as I suggested on your another thread -> http://stackideas.com/forums/put-members-in-a-group-on-registration

So when the user registered on your site, they will automatically joined that group you assigned from the profile type.

Hey Arlex

I appreciate your response both here and in the other thread.
However fact remains that I want to get 800 (closer to 788) users into a group.
I think this needs to go into the voices section as of now this is my Workflow:

001-Select-Group in question
002-View 100 Members at a time but only change 20 at a time when I press add members! (Sorry but makes no sense)
003-Can not navigate more than one page at a time to add members (eg jump 10 pages at a time would be cool. 10/20/30 etc)

The first 20 times 10 is doable!
After that it gets tricky.
e.g. lets say I want to get to user 781 to add them:

1) Go to page one of add member box
2) Press page 10 to get to see page 14
3) Press 14 to get to see 18
4) Press 18 to see page 26
5) Press 26 to see page 30
6) Press 30 to see page 34
7) Press 34 to see page 38
8) Press 38 to see page 40
9) Press select all*Note01
10) Press submit
11) Press submit

*Note01 Forget step 9 start again.

*Note02 500 - Internal Server Error
This is a temporary server error.
Please try to reload the webpage later.
i.e. start again.

But even if I could do this in steps of 100!!!

The worst thing is doing this during the course of a week where users are joining and yes you have stuff set up incorrectly…

I am just saying that there has to be a better way.

best

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your kind concern and suggestion. I will log this down into our codebase so our developers can think of a way to add large numbers of users inside group with a single click if possible. Let's hope for the best!

vtt5962 thank you so much for this

1) Add Member
2) Click page in Q
3) Click select all (100)
4) Submit
5) Submit

Do this 8 times and save 4 hours of your life.

Just deleted all 771 Users and added them again in under 5 minutes.

Not sure if I should cry or laugh.
I guess I will chose to laugh

best
