We are contemplating using EasyBlogs as a Help Desk by having a Support Menu Item and then they can click on a variety of Tips & Guides to go to displayed articles. However, we are having trouble finding modules for search.

1) Is there a search module that can be added that will search only a specified category? For example, all of our Admin created help desk articles would be under one category that only we can add to. We would want a search bar on the right or top of the help area that will only show results for that specific category.

Is this doable in a module that I simply haven't found?
It is currently not possible but in EasyBlog 5.2, you can configure the search module to only search for specific categories. However, if you are going to look for a helpdesk, I would suggest using EasyDiscuss.

Well the help desk idea is more about having answers with videos and so on rather than a discussion board that I have to reply to regularly. We will utilize the help desk with a discussion forum too though! More of a "self help" type of thing that walks through frequently asked questions!

Does EasyBlog 5.2 have a release date set?

Also, I was browsing and found a Custom Field Search Module that we may find a way to utilize. Not sure how yet but it sounds like waiting for EasyBlog 5.2 may be better.
