Im not really sure what you mean by that. Not taking sides, but both are just two modules that show avatar badges/karma notifications and bunch of hardcoded links.
Am i missing some super awesome feature there?

Well, I am not trying to imply anything but "hello me" was originally written by me so I don't know how extensive it has gotten now but the last I remembered it was just simple links and an avatar I don't remember it having badges or any notifications but perhaps it was extended later but I am still definitely loving EasySocial Menu module

I do think that the mod_easysocial_menu makes more sense than mod_hellome because hellome doesn't really state anything that it's related to a list of menus that are available to you
