Hi there, I've been trying to set up my blog to use the easy blog showcase module at the top of the page on the front page but when I go into the individual blogs the show case module is still showing.
How do I get the module to only show on the home page of the blog & not the actual blogs as you have done in the demo?
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

If you referring this Easyblog demo site http://easyblog.stackideas.com/ , you actually do not need to display Easyblog showcase module on the page, because the blog frontpage already have a build-in showcase slider if you have featured blog post, it will automatically show up if the setting 'show featured slider" is enabled.

If you would like to use Easyblog showcase module, perhaps you can try my following suggestion and see how it goes.

1. create each of your existing categories to hidden menu item (single category menu type)

2. Then edit this Easyblog showcase module from your site backend, assign to only show your blog listing menu item

3. so it will properly can display this showcase only blog listing page because those blog entry page already link to your single categories menu item instead of your blog listing menu item.

Hi Arlex,

the only reason I was using the showcase module was that I wanted the grid layout but couldn't get the showcase section on the grid to show the showcase section that's built into the grid layout to span the whole top of the page so I removed it from the grid in an over ride & used the module.
Is there a way to have the showcase section in the grid layout span the top as I have done with the module showing the latest article as a single large option? Or can you suggest an alternative way to achieve this layout?

I've checked in your site, it seems like your showcase module assigned to display on your blog listing page and grid layout page.

The reason why it show this Showcase module on the blog entry page is because that blog URL is referring on this blog listing page menu id.

In order to achieve this, you have to modify the Easyblog core file, try download my attached file and replace into this JoomlaFolder/modules/mod_easyblogshowcase/mod_easyblogshowcase.php and see how it goes?

Thanks Arlex, that has removed the showcase from the other pages but it has left the header there, how do I remove this and when easyblog does an upgrade will this module revert to the origonal set up?

Okay, try revert back that file what i provided in earlier, then try download my attached file and replace into your current template override file location, for those new folder you have to manually create it.

JoomlaFolder/templates/yourCurrentTemplate/html/mod_easyblogshowcase/magazine.php

Hi Arlex, what was this supposed to do?
for clarity I have attached a picture of the modification I'd like to be able to do to the grid layout, this would mean I can remove the showcase module completely. The current page is the layout I want but don't want to have to use the showcase to do it.

Hi Arlex,
Sorry the hit post before I finished typing that for some reason. It's displaying the post as I wanted it but it isn't displaying the blog image well, it looks like it's using a small image being stretched. the image is by default 640x380 so we shouldn't get that and you don't get it when you open the full article.

I've help you switch that showcase picture size from small to large, it should render the correct image now.

You can check my attached screenshot below.
