Try checking the link App in Applications. I think I saw an option to set the link to open in new window. I'm on my iPad and can't check to verify.

I just checked User - Link - It was the option No Follow Attribute that iI saw. so this should be a feature request to have the link open a new window.

It's not a feature request, I believe it is something they overlooked. The link inside the stream opens in a new window, but the link in the header opens in the same window
