Hi there,

First of all congratulations on 1.2 and on the expansion of search into Smart Search. I know it is not available but I am looking to get someone to develop the following feature for me. What I wanted was for hashtags to be searched. I presume that basically we have to do it through the smart search. Are there any pointers you can give me if you have them on how to go about and do it?

Yep, that's correct. To be able to search for hashtags, you'll probably want to look at the other finder plugins which we have created to give you a better idea

I just found a plugin that purports to convert hastags (#+word) to link to Joomla! search outside of ES, if this proves useful in your work or your're able to integrate the concept across the site components reply back and share with us.

Hm, I am not too sure how this plugin works but we actually store the hashtags on our own internal tables.
