The quick post module does not allow # tags and @ mentions, and if a user enters # or @ in the quick post then it is stored and rendered as a plain text, this defeats the purpose of quick post.

I had highlighted the shortcoming in This Link, and you had mentioned that it is in the works, but it seems that this issue has slipped your mind.

Hi Sunny,

Thanks for the heads up on the issue. I believe our developers is currently working on the update with quickpost module and hopefully it will be ready in the next release of easysocial.

This has become a little urgent as i've done a language override (Share whats on your mind..), whereby i request my site members to use #HASHTAG to tag an item.

Would you please please incorporate this and share the progress.

regards
The idea for the quick post is to allow users to quickly post something without all the complexity of the story form. I will consider and see if we should be adding mentions and hashtags into this module in the near future.

Yes i agree quick post should allow quick posting and there is no need for url/place/moods etc in the normal story form.
but if users are used to entering # hashtags and the quick post does not store it as a clickable #hash,
Searching for existing hash while entering text into form might not be a priority in quick post. But if a user enters a # then at least it should not convert the entered text into a simple TXT file and store in DB (i.e when rendered in stream it should be clickable).

If you can have only hastags for the time being that would be great.
