Many members are confused with how the current profile view is designed.

It would be better if there is a message of some sort or some type of indicator (counter?) to inform visitors there are much more content available.

Right now as a guest and viewing a profile, it doesn't look as active and seem like there isn't much posting.

Hope that make sense.
Hello Peter,

If the guest is viewing a restricted profile, it would actually display a message stating that they are unable to view the person's profile due to privacy concerns.

Hi Mark

The restricted profile message works fine but all public profile looks inactive or "new".

It makes it looks like everyone just recently joined with no history.

Curious how others are tackling this.

Maybe we have to manually edit a file and put a message "user has 20+ posts - register/login to view more"

Hello Peter,

It might make sense to you but you also need to understand that actually defeats the purpose of hiding the user's privacy completely because you are still disposing some of their data to the public

Hi Mark

This is not for privacy on the profile itself but for viewing of publicly available posts.

If you go to a twitter profile or facebook page, you can simply scroll to see more activities.

For ES there is no way to see activities because it limit the view. A member on ES can have a long history of public activity but when a guest view the profile, it only see the last few days so it makes that user seem like a newly registered member.

Why does ES limit this?

Hello Peter,

Yes, that is because the user most likely have set their privacy for some of the items as private. For instance, if your privacy for photos and stream updates is set to your friends only, it wouldn't make sense to display these stream items.
