I am using both Komento and Easy Social. When a Guest makes a comment on a Joomla article, their Name will show above the comment on the article's page. I have Komento configured to allow the comment to also post on the Easy Social Timeline. However the Name field does not carry over to Easy Social. It simply says "Guest posted a comment on...". Whereas, on the article page, the Name is displayed as "Guest - John Doe" for example.

I cannot find a setting anywhere to allow the Name field to carry over to the Easy Social post. Any ideas?

I have attached screen shots of both examples.
Hey there,

Can you please provide us with the following:

1. The link to the article that has the comment
2. The FTP access to the site.

Hi Mark,

The screenshots I gave you were to a staging site. However, I am not sure how to give you FTP access to the staging site. So I have given you access to the LIVE site. I have added the FTP access details to my original forum post, and I have also included the article links in the Additional Message section of the original post above.

Thanks!

Hello JV,

By default it will not create a stream if the user is a Guest. Can you provide us the access to this: http://screencast.com/t/uxVHHkG6q

Nik,

My question is not about whether a stream is created or not. My question is about the Name field that the Guest fills in when he is submitting a comment. The way I have it set up now, when a Guest submits a comment to an article, they must fill in their Name and an optional email address. When they do this, their name appears on the post as shown in the Comment on Article screenshot above. But on Easy Social, the Name of the guest does NOT show on the stream item on Easy Social.

I hope I have made this more clear. I have enabled access to the back end with the credentials in my Site Details.

Thanks,
jv

Hello Jv,

Yes, I understand what you are saying but it is not the correct behavior. Any Guest actions should not be visible on the Easysocial stream. I think we have missed this. We shouldn't let it generate the stream.

Oh, I hope you don't change that. I would prefer that Guest action be visible on the ES stream. However, I would like the Name field to be carried over to the ES stream.

Perhaps you could add a setting to turn Guest action on the ES stream On or Off, rather than take it away altogether.

Hello Jv,

It needs a lot of changes to implement this because Easysocial itself did not process Guest stream. Komento need to generate correct data so that Easysocial can directly display the name.

Hi Nik,

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. If it is too much trouble to get Komento to display the Name on the ES stream, that is okay. I guess it is not that important.

Thank you for your time.
