Is there any way for me to setup a user and password for guest,so that they will be able to go through the network (tour) and see if they like it, with out bothering anyone or making changes or doing stuff they should not.

Thanks
James
Hello James,

Unfortunately that was not possible allow guest user login in your site.

If you only allow the user have the permission take a look in your site, you can try create a new user group just specify this 'guest' user group, then create another Easysocial profile type just for this 'guest' user group and disable all the permission/privacy such as add comment/stream or etc. Hope this help.

Hi
Arlex

I already tried it. . But here is the funny part. If the Guest logs in, he can change some of this own private setting and enable thing that I disabled. Obviously he can't change the group setting, be the guest will be able to enable enough to make a mess and invite random people share random stuff. But I will see what I can do.

Hello James,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Yes, that was because the private setting is related their own user account one.
Okay, let us know if you need further assistance.

@James

A thought....

One way round it would be to create the normal Joomla Guest User with standard Guest User Access and allow them to see a video of the network (tour) that is only available for Guests (not registered users).

You create the video (I use Snagit for any videos of this type) and set it up for Guest access only.
