While observing Pages in EasySocial it is easy to see that both Pages and Groups offer nearly the same functionality with the exception of Events. So, why not have a similar header for Pages where it shows the number of Discussions? I am also not sure why a page wouldn't also have the ability to create an event? It seems logical to do that so that the event is associated with the page.

So, my questions:
- Can you add discussions to the header for pages?
- Can you create an event app for pages and then add it to the header of pages as well?

James

Would be nice to have a button that says "Create Event" in the event section of a page. Similar to how the albums section of a page has a new album button.

Agreed.

It just seems to me that its a small feature but makes sense.
On facebook I follow many pages and they are always posting events that they will be having.

I should have mentioned that you can already create events on pages, it's just harder to find due to only being able to see the creation link when clicking the configure icon (triple dots). As for the second question:

Can you create an event app for pages...?

Rather than creating another app which would clutter the profile. Why not have the event app on the profile filter by group events? If we utilize filters more, we can keep the number of apps down and create an easier viewing experience at the same time.

Thanks Josh, unfortunately I don't see it when I click on the three dots.

I checked my application settings for the Pages Event App and it is enabled and set to allow for the category this page is in.

Here is a screenshot, can you show me what yours looks like? https://screencast.com/t/w0zbz7t78c

Thanks,
James

I see. Attached is what it looks like on my end. Also check ES Backend > Applications > Page (type) > Events > Story
Is "Allow Create Event" enabled on the app?

PS Added you on Skype.

Yep, I checked there as well and it is enabled.

Something is not working right. I am sure when one of the StackIdeas folks see this they can jump on my site and figure out what is going on. Likely something I have done or have not done! lol

I figured it out..... stupid me!

It is like Groups in the fact that you also have to go to the Page Category and it's custom fields and add the Event Creation custom fields. I hadn't done this, got to thinking and then add it and bam, now it is there!

Silly me.

Hi James and Josh,
I will be doing further testing on the events app in pages. This is just a suspicion, it is possible the 'allow create events' ACL for the page category is not set in the database during installation unless after saving the page category for the first time, causing the events button to not display in the header by default.
As for the discussion app, it is supposed to show in the header as in groups. I will report this to the devs so they can fix this.
Would be nice to have a button that says "Create Event" in the event section of a page. Similar to how the albums section of a page has a new album button.
It will be great if you could post this in the feature request section to expose the idea to other users of the extension.

I still don't have the custom field utilized, yet event creation is not an issue for me.

You're welcome James.

The same goes for me when I was testing earlier. It was only after I saved the page category once then the events button shows up. I believe James did the same thing(saving the page category) in addition to adding that custom field.
