Is it possible to remove "item" from group URL's?
My group URL's currently look like this:
http://mysitecom/users/groups/item/10-groupname

I know when a user sets a permalink for their profile it removes the item number. Is there a way to remove the item number from groups?

Also, is there a setting that allows only admin to set a group as "Featured"?

Lastly (and most importantly), I want unregistered users to be able to view full profiles without having to register. Is this able to be done? As of now when a non-registered user tries to view the "View Full Profile" link, it takes them to a page to register for the community.

Thanks in advance!
You are most welcome Steven

Hello Steven,

I am really sorry but unfortunately it's not possible to remove the /item/ portion from the URL. Joomla needs a way to determine the current item that is being viewed and the only way to identify that the viewer is viewing a particular group item is via the "layout" which is the "item".

Setting a group to featured is actually restricted to site admins only. If you do not have site admin access you wouldn't be able to feature a group on the site.

As for users being taken to the registration page when viewing a person's full profile. It's actually because you have created a menu that links to the profile layout and that particular menu is probably being set as "Registered".

Hello Mark,

Okay, good to know that only admin's can set groups as default. Regarding your statement:
As for users being taken to the registration page when viewing a person's full profile. It's actually because you have created a menu that links to the profile layout and that particular menu is probably being set as "Registered".
Yep! That was it. I was trying to keep a place for users to get back to their profiles easily from anywhere in the site. I imaging I will set up a profile menu module to show on other places unless you have another suggestion?

Thanks so much as always for your time!
