Hi,

PFA. I tried creating an event for 12 noon to 1 pm. I kept the default time zone selected (UTC), saved the event. This shows me the expected time.
I created another event where I wanted different time zone. So the event is from 12 noon to 1pm in Asia/Kolkata time zone. But on saving this, the event time has changed to 12 noon + GMT 5:30+ that is 5:30pm to 6:30pm.

When I create an event with a non UTC time zone, I dont want the time to get converted wrt timezone. I just need the time and zone I chose to display as it is.. If this is not fixed yet, please tell me how can I remove the time zone field from the event addition form in the groups so that UTC will be default and whatever time user selects will be shown correctly.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

You can enable `Allow timezone` from your each event categories from backend, you can refer on my first screenshot.

When you create a new event, you can able to set your event refer on UTC or timezone.

Thanks for the reply! The settingyou have mentioned is already turned off andI dont see the timezone field on event creation form . However the issue I am facing is inside the group, when user posts an event using the posts box. PFA.
In our case, this is the place where most of the users will be able to post events.

Hi Arlex,

I replaced the file but do not see any change in the timezone field. The time is still getting converted if I choose any other timezone that UTC.

By the way, can you try download my following attached fix and replace into these following file location and see how it goes? (the timezone field will disappear now)

Thanks! That did remove the time zone from group event post. Any config using which we can turn it on / off as and when required? Will tht come in next release?

Another issue I see is, when I post an event, a blank space is displayed where post should show up. When I refresh the page, the event details appear. Tell me if I need to change anything in events app to fix this

Yes, by default you can turn on/off through the event category custom field and this issue will apply the proper fix in next release version.

Hm, I can't replicate this in my locally, can you provide us some screenshot which blank space you referring to?

But it would be best if you can temporary switch off your login/register which using social network so that we can directory create a JOomla user account from backend so we can access your frontend and replicate this issue as you mentioned at above.

Because now I can't register an account through Facebook/Google, this is what I hitting now.
