The link I'm providing is a GROUP CATEGORY LAYOUT menu item, to help illustrate what I think is a general bug.

On the activity stream, if you're a guest you get a wonderful summary of all the stream happenings from all the groups in that category...

BUT.. If you login, the stream becomes restricted suddenly to only the groups you are a member of... clearly that wouldn't be the intention behind having a 'GROUP CATEGORY LAYOUT stream'... The logged-in user should see the same as the guest (maybe more if for example they are private groups he / she is a member of... but certainly they shouldn't be seeing less!!!!)

On this occasion I would appreciate a 'hot-fix' for my site ahead of the next update if that is possible due to the time urgency of my project. Thanks!
Hello Andy,

Seems like it is a bug from our end. The attached file is a temporary fix. Do replace it here: ../components/com_easysocial/views/groups/view.html.php. I will log this in our issue tracker.

Hi Nik,

Thanks for trying to help here... but looks like there's a 'change control' issue with the fixed file... whilst it sorts my problem, it then reintroduces something that was fixed in a recent version of EasySocial. ( see issue and fix at https://stackideas.com/forums/group-stream-entries-missing-reference-link-to-the-group-they-relate-to )

With the current file, the stream will say things like "Nik joined the group, New Team" and "New Team" will be nicely linked to the Group page.. but in your fixed file this reverts back to old EasySocial behaviour (that was fixed) such that the stream just says "Nik joined the group" which, on the group category page where the stream refers to multiple different groups makes no sense!

So your fix worked, but it re-introduced an older issue Hope that makes senses?!

Hello Andy,

I'm sorry. This is the disadvantage of providing a hotfix. Since this temporary fix has introduced a new issue, you might want to revert back to use the original file and we will take a deep look on this issue and will be included in the next release.

Hi Nik!... OK I fully understand. I appreciate the hot-fix attempt anyhow (and did ask for it!)

Mark was doing some customisation work for me on the EasySocial Stream module which was having the same issue and it's been fixed there... so maybe it would be the same solution for this main stream page...
