For Easysocial GPRS compliance, the recommend setting for backend Account Deletion Behavior is: "Delete account and notify Admins"
However, we prefer to give members the option to unpublish their accounts rather than deleting them completely.
They then have an option to request that the account be re-instated without any loss of data etc

If we set the Account Deletion Behavior to "Unpublish account and notify admins", will this prevent the download data function from working? Or will it just be a known GDPR non-compliance issue (which we can live with) but the data download still work fine?
If the user already decide to delete their user account on the site, system will set this user to unpublished, so this user unable to download his data on the site.

If you would like to use this delete behaviour "Unpublish account and notify admins", I think you have to let them know very clear about this from those agreement or privacy policy.

Thanks Arlex,
We have already changed the language string from |"delete profile" to "suspend profile".
We also added details for the complete process (Suspend then delete) to our FAQ and Help files, so that is already covered.
I just wanted to know if the function would still work if we changed that setting.
(We don't service the Euro zone so we don't physically have to comply with GDPR. However we want to make privacy as compliant as possible for members)

You're most welcome.

If you switch to this delete behaviour option "Unpublish account and notify admins", that download user data still working correctly but once they decide to delete their account from user edit profile page, they can't download their data on the site is because it required user to login.
