I noticed that my login as Facebook button is not working. I had created an app for DrCarney.com for EasySocial and just now tried to configure it following the instructions at https://stackideas.com/docs/easysocial/administrators/social-integrations/facebook-app-configuration#furnishingappdetails

I got stuck at Step 6 - Disable Development Mode

Basically the "Submit for Review" button is grey on my Facebook apps page where yours is selected. They want me to select something from the Add Items button.

I will add my facebook login to my Site Details in case you want to look.

Sean
Ok. I believe this should be all fixed now. I basically created a new app at Facebook following the instructions better. Then I put the new App ID and Secret key into my EasySocial facebook configuration. It is working now.

I also realized where I got into trouble. It was on Step 6 - Disable Development Mode

Basically all I was supposed to do was click on the Yes button and then click on Save. Unfortunately I had clicked on the "Start a Submission" button and that is what got us all messed up. So, we have to make sure to NOT click on that button UNLESS we are moving on the Step 7.

Thanks again, Sean Carney

Hi Sean,
It seems your Facebook access requires validation now(http://take.ms/RUy97). Can you temporary disable this so we can investigate this issue fluidly? Thanks.

Very Interesting. They sent me a message that somebody was trying to login from Malaysia. I said yes hoping that would allow you access. This happened last night. I will go and check to see if they have another way to add you as an administrator. But, I also would not be surprised if you are able to get in now since I approved it last night.

Hi Sean,
I am able to login into your Facebook now.
It seems you are trying to complete step 7 in the documentation, correct?
I noticed that you mentioned the login with Facebook button not working. If you are just setting up the app for the Facebook login, you do not need to complete step 7. Step 7 is only used if you want to allow your users to autopost to Facebook from ES story form. Also, the 'Submit for Review' button is grey color because you need to first Add Items and configure them first. Basically that's how it works if you want to do step 7.

I have tested registering and signing in with Facebook on your site and I do not experience any issues. If you do not need to set up autoposting to Facebook from ES then your app configuration should be all set.

Thank you so much for the reply.

I do not want or need to set up step 7. :-) I had started down that path and then realized it was not necessary.

Currently when I click on the Sign in with Facebook button at https://www.drcarney.com/login I get an error message at the top of the popup window that says:

Submit for Login Review
Some of the permissions below have not been approved for use by Facebook.
Submit for review now or learn more.

That is what I want to get rid of as it appears that the page is broken.

Hey Sean,

Submit for Login Review
Some of the permissions below have not been approved for use by Facebook.
Submit for review now or learn more.

Actually this warning will not cause any login issue, if you would like to get rid out of this, you have to submit "publish_action" Facebook user permission for Facebook review, once you get approval by Facebook reviewer, that warning will no longer appear when the user click sign in via Facebook.

I do not believe I have anything that I want to publish with this app. So, maybe I just need to delete this one and create a brand new one being careful not to venture into step 7 which must be how I got into this?

I believe this app is only to allow Facebook logins.
