How do I embed my Google photos (photos and images) into EasyBlog my blog posts?
Same with EasySocial and EasyDiscuss.

I guess very many of my users are using Google Photos for their photos and videos. But strange that it is not simple to use Google Photos in EasyBlog, EasyDiscuss and EasySocial?

I would like my users to embed their Google photos and videos fast and easy into their posts.
Hey there,

Unfortunately we do not have support this in current system.

Based on what i research and tested Google photo app, it seems like there was no way to embed photos directly from Google Photos, it only allow user to get the photo link when you click share button, then you need to manually copy your photo link and paste into this Google photo embed tool https://ctrlq.org/google/photos/ , then it will generate embed HTML code for you.

EasyBlog just dont ... feels so ... awkward ... not intuitive for new users ... why could it not be as simple as Wordpress to use?

A blog component needs 3 basic features to work - write text, insert images and insert videos.

Text works ok with your component, but wish font was bigger, more like Wordpress. Wordpress got blogging correct!

Insert videos is ok with the "Embed video" button. But do not work with Google Photos/Drive videos for som reason? Even though it says Google videos?
Here is a Google Photos/Drive video link (share link from Google Drive > Google Photos):
https://drive.google.com/file/d/17MjOvd5ms6q7UZyVN4Jpl61QZBthZ7JPqw/view?usp=sharing

What is so hard getting this to work?

Then to images... I mean... Why do you not have a "Insert/embed photo" button? That would have been awsome! And please make it work with Google Photos as well as Flickr, Apple photos, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.

I am using JCE Editor. And image button is ok for images. But it is too bloated, and scares my users away (should just have URL and size fields).

When right-clicking a photo in Google Photos and choosing View in New tab, you get the URL for shareable/embeddable photo.

I hope you see where I am going.

I want a simple and intuitive blog component for Joomla, where my users can write text, embed images from whatever cloud service they are using, and embed videos from whatever cloud service they are using, and stop. Nothing more. Simple as that. No need for storing videos and photos on my webserver. Everybody got their videos and photos on their own cloud service these days, no need to fill my webserver with their junk, just let them embed.

Thanks for your input, currently we do not have support embed video from Google drive, perhaps you can start a new thread and request this embed feature in https://stackideas.com/forums/easyblog/feature-requests so we will se if there a lot of users request this feature, we will definitely implement this in the future.

By the way, currently we do have implemented Flickr integration with Easyblog, you can read this following documentation how to setup to import those Flickr image into Easyblog composer.

Thanks!
What is the "Google video" thing in your "Embed video" button?

I do not get it... Should not priority 1 with EasyBlog be to make it work with current online cloud, video and photo services?

And why do EasyBlog not have a "Insert photo" button???

You're welcome.

What is the "Google video" thing in your "Embed video" button?

Yes, we did mentioned it can support Google video, but this only support these Google video format e.g. http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docid=xxxx , for now we do not have support for those Google drive video yet.

I do not get it... Should not priority 1 with EasyBlog be to make it work with current online cloud, video and photo services?

Currently we do not have any plan for support online cloud with those photo/videos, for now you can request this feature into our forum https://stackideas.com/forums/easyblog/feature-requests , our developer will compile all our customer request those feature and see which one is more user requested so we will definitely consider implement this in the future.

And why do EasyBlog not have a "Insert photo" button???

Yes, because we allow user to upload their image in Easyblog media manager, for those user who want to insert image in blog content, they can upload image through this way.

Thanks, but sorry, I am not talking about uploading images/photos. I am talking about having the same image/photo button that JCE Editor has. Just entering the URL, and voila image/photo shows up in your blog article.

Why you do not support this is a mystery to me... And no, I will not feature request this. If you have not gotten how important this feature is by now, after all these years, then so be it.

You really should just have two buttons for this. Insert media button (URL + size + alignment for images or videos), and, Upload media button (your Media manager).

The reason why we only implement to use upload image is because when you upload image through Easyblog media manager, it actually will help you resize the image so you can set which image size you would like to populate on the blog listing page.

Imagine, if you use all the image link populate into your blog listing page, plus those image resolution and quality is very high, it might be caused site performance issue is because when you load the page, it actually will took time to load finish for those image on the blog listing page.

For the insert video button, we already implemented this but currently that is not support Google drive video and those online cloud videos.
