Hi.
Your instruction on how to get a Google maps API appears to be out of date, it is totally different to your tutorial, i was unable to follow the instructions and havent so far been able to get the API and get my maps to show.

cheers
Richard

Thanks but the video is different to what happens

This bit in the attachment doesn’t come up now

When you click on “API key” it just creates it without giving you the option of server key etc?

This is what I really hate about all these services. They roll out different UI for different users and it is so difficult to create a proper documentation to outline them all.

Can I know what do you see on your end right now? Is the project already created?

yes i have an API code it let me through all that and confirmed it - the only bit that was missing from your video was when you click on create API it just created one immediately and didnt give the options you showed like "server" IOS" "Android" etc

needless to say the API i have is still giving an error when the blog is displayed with a map in it:
The Google Maps API server rejected your request. Invalid request. Invalid 'maptype' parameter.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Is it possible update your following details into your first post? So we can better have a check?

1. Joomla backend access
2. FTP access
3. Google account access

Arlex.
Really appreciate your time mate, there isnt any rush with this at all. I am a little nervous of handing out my Google account details as so much is linked to it and it is such a bind to change passwords afterwards, is it possible for you to try the process yourself and i think you will see that it has changed from when you made the video?
many thanks

Many thanks for taking the time to do this new video - i can confirm that is exactly what i did including the second time i enabled the API aswell which i think is an extra step. I have posted above the site admin details if you get a chance (no rush) to check i havent done something wrong in the blog settings, it is the last live blog called "Rosapenna Hotel...." that i am using as an example that isnt showing the maps

http://www.luxurygolfcollection.co.uk/home/lgc-blog

many thanks

Hi Richard,

Now I know the exact issue that you mention above
Thanks for providing us the access, it give us a better view regarding this issue.
I've replicate this issue locally, seems like there is issue as you disable the 'use static map'
Can you download the attached file and replace it in the file:
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/maps/maps.php
and see how it goes?

You're suggested to backup the file that you want to replace beforehand for precaution
