Gmail test connection failed

Hi,

I'm trying to configure remote publishing with gmail but the answer is "Connection failed to gmail-imap.l.google.com,993: Connection timed out".

Please find enclose the configuration screen shot.

Nota:
- I've first try to enter manually the password.
- After that, I've write the password in a text document, then copy and past in gmail (to see if I've correctly write the password). Then, I've paste it into the easyblog cell "password" in my navigator .

Nota: xxx in "xxx@gmail.com" has been replace to send it to the forum (the adress is valid in my configuration)

Any idea ?

Okay, I'm sorry for that.
Could you mind provide us with your Cpanel access as well? so we can help you check on your cron command is it set correctly? Please advise.

Hi,

I've not set the cron task for the moment as I just want to test the "run" button.
When it'll work with run, then, I should configure the cron.

You should set the cronjob first only can test it properly.

Hello Thierry 99,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.
That strange, Could you mind consult with your webhosting provider is it your imap.gmail.com can set port 993?
Also, try to use another email address and see is it the test connection show success? Please advise.

Hi,

I try to setup the remote publishing with my gmail account. I use my outlook client tested with the gmail account. It shows my gmail account IMAP access works fine.

But, when I click the "Run" to test connecting in joomla, I get error message " Connection failed to gmail-imap.l.google.com,993: Connection timed out" . Also, when i click "How to setup cronjobs", i got page not found error

So, do you have a doc to share with me about how to setup auto publish step by step?

It seems like you have replied on multiple post thread regarding on this issues.

I would personally prefer that you start a new thread instead and provide us with your Joomla backend and Cpanel access so that we can help you check on this.
