Hi, I have setup subscription cron jobs for EasyDiscuss and EasyBlog. The emails from EasyBlog and other extensions such as RSForm are working fine. But the emails from EasyDiscuss are being flagged by gmail as: "? for logo" and the message that "gmail is unable to authenticate the sender, maybe a spammer. "

Seems like some EasyDiscuss setup since other extensions are working fine. Also, had my web host check the email settings. Any ideas on what may be happening?

There are actually many reasons behind this as nobody really knows how gmail generates the score for your e-mails. Because EasyDiscuss is a user generated content, there is a possibility that gmail is detecting that there are a lot of e-mails coming from the same sender constantly (since it is a forum and it has more activity than anything else).

I have checked your settings and it looks like you are using php mail under your Joomla Global Configuration. Often, mail providers like gmail / outlook doesn't like e-mail senders like php mail.

To get a better reputation for your e-mail deliverables, I would definitely suggest you to stick to a proper SMTP provider as gmail could then verify those and give it a better score for sure. You could try transactional e-mail providers like sendgrid or mailgun.

Alternatively, if your hosting provider provides e-mail services, create an e-mail account on your cpanel and set them up in your Joomla Global Configuration section.

Thank you so much, works now with the SMTP change.

I got misled by the difference in email behavior between EasyDiscuss and EasyBlog. Spent all my effort combing through the ED settings! Probably the difference is due to the number of emails as you suggested.
