Yes, users can purchase gifts and give gifts using their points.

I'm intrigued with KO Custom Gift Card. The extension allows you to provide your own set of images and a simple way to define the layout for your gift cards and then sell these custom gift certificates on your site. A first-pass look at the activity in their forum and feedback on Joomla.org indicates it's actively supported and well-maintained.

The system doesn't yet support payment via points, but 1) the developer has been asked and informs it's easy for him to support partial-payment via points but 2) if others request payment exclusively via points he could be swayed to make the change.

I've requested he support a multi-user configuration in ES and integration with Techjoomla and the developer, Lebill, said he'd put it on his "to-do" list.

As is usually the case the "market interest" set's developer priorities unless you time it right and the work benefits the underlying platform or extends the market for the component in some way. So, if any ES sites desire another way to monetize their sites or offer that capability to create, buy, and sell gift certificates to site members for either points, cash, or a mix of those, please do head on over to KO Custom Gift Card and share your interest/requirements.

Gift Exchange was a very good component when they was still supporting the product and giving away free copies of Jomsocial. But the support is dead, and I was thinking about creating a fork of this component at one time but decided not to. But the component stills work in J25 and would be a major addon for Easy Social. Its really a mini eCommerce component with the gift you send shows up in a user profile. They was planning to add a payment option to the component also. and the drag and drop option was nice to use when sending a gift. Adding this to Easy Social would be a major win for this program. Hell, I may go back and play around with this component for my daughter website...

Out of the two KO Custom Gift Card and Gift Exchange, Gift Exchange is a premium component that you can charge more... And when you let consumers do it themselves you can create problems you never really foresee. And if you can add the retail option to the mix you are looking at a $50 to $70 component that can be easily integrated into Easy Social!

Latest Gift Exchange component version is 3.10.1 (last update on Oct 4, 2012)
No support for Joomla 3...
I have used it - support is too slow and sometimes it can't resolve issues.

I'd like to understand, is Stackideas team have plans to develope Gift's app for ES ?

I found that I can't read my topics in EasyDiscuss category and it seems, that you revoked my subscription
But, as I promised I finally finished with russian translation for ED
It took a lot of time, because there was a large amount of non-translated text.
And yet, before that I was needed to finish before Easyblog translation - it was not finished too.
And finally, I had a lot of issues with migrating from Jomsocial and Kunena to ED and ES (you know).
So, I'm really sorry for the delay, but I have fulfilled all its promises
