The German Translation for "SEO" killed the EasyBlog layout for new posts (see screenshot). I personally would prefer SEO here for German too as this is a known abbreviation for german speaking persons. Most users will understand that and do not need a German translation. However if that's not possible a line break here might be fine for us too....

Please fix that in a further verison. We do not need a hotfix but would also not like to use a own language overwrite to fix that.

thanks
Hi Tela,
There may some issues with the styling as I am not able to replicate your issue locally: http://take.ms/x6PoQ
Can you provide us access to your site so we can take a look(http://take.ms/FzjYC)? Thanks.

Hi there!

I can confirm this behaviour on earlier versions (eg. V5.0.44).
In actual version (V5.1.5) it simply truncates the text. (see attached Screenshot - MacOS 10.12.5, Safari+Firefox)

I prefer the acronym "SEO" for the german language too.

There is also a mistake in writing. When you take a look at my screenshot, there is on the bottom the german phrase "Scihtbar für alle". This writing is wrong. It should be "Sichtbar für alle".

Regards
Heiko

Ah upgraded to the latest easy blog indeed switched that to "Suchmaschinen". But for me as a German person this sounds like a very wired translation. So I will stick to the point to name that section "SEO" :-)

@Heiko Weiss
I couldn´t reproduce the issue with the "Scihtbar für alle" as for me it looks fine in the actual language version. Please keep noted this is an additional download/update in the installer. It didn´t update the language during the update from the component. I created a feature request for there which is here if you wish that too ;-)

Hi Tela,

thank's for the hint. I've updated german language (see attachment) and cleared all caches.
But the mistake in writing is still there.

Heiko

strange, i use the same language as you and do not see that. Did you maybe use a unique lang overwrite?

No, i use no overrides.

I've looked in the easyblog language files and found in file "de-DE.com_easyblog.ini" two wrong writings (see attachment).
The file was definitely updated today.

But now it's ok.

I am currently working on completing the German translation of EasyBlog and will include proper translation of the SEO string. Will take a while until it's completed though, since I am doing this in my free time.

Hey Heiko,
The strings you are seeing is actually the original EasyBlog string(https://www.screencast.com/t/hkaJOK9cH9A4).
The one that Tela is seeing is due to the presence of EasySocial on the site, thus integrating EasySocial's privacy into the composer.
@Christopher, since you are currently translating the German file, what do you think about changing the following language constant to SEO? Will the non-tech savvy German bloggers understand it?
COM_EASYBLOG_COMPOSER_SEO="Suchmaschinen Optimierung"

Hi there!

@Christopher, thank you for this information and your work!
Do you need some help?

@Raymond, that's the reason!
By the way, i think "SEO" is absolutely ok.

SEO is fine, anyone who doesn't know this term probably shouldn't run a website.

@Heiko: if you wanna help, sign up at Transifex and tell Stackideas to give you translation access.

They should allow more positions for faster translation. German is way behind...

yes and its really important for me to get a proper German translation for all StackIdeas components. There are still persons in Germany who do not read or speak English.

Hello Tela,

There's an opening for German translation group currently. If you would like to volunteer, i could add you into the translators group. If you haven't already registered at Transifex, you can do so at https://www.transifex.com/stack-ideas

We usually only accept 4 translators in a group, but i'm making an exception just for this. And I have already added you into Germany group. Happy translating!

You are most welcome By the way guys, we are looking at moving away from Transifex and I was wondering if you guys have had any preference or any ideal way of working on translations?

Hm why? Transiflex seamed to be the best option here you could get. I took part in the translation from the game Wasteland 2 (https://www.getlocalization.com/wasteland2/) with a team from maybe 40-50 other persons. Getlocalization was the solution we used here and it wasn´t that bad. The issue here was that some persons joined and translated some small strings to get a free game (that was an deal they offered) but with bad language skills and they often do not understand the context used here. Later one an moderator was assigned but it was a little bit to late as the time to finish the translation was already over when the 3 core persons including me finished the last sentences. As far as I can remember it was possible to leave a comment for the other translators. You could also vote for other translations and can see who did which translation.

Transifex will be starting to charge us an insane amount which doesn't justify us to use Transifex. We would not be able to sustain if we have to pay this ludicrous amount to Transifex every month
