yes ....you can update via backend.
but there is a problem....with es 1.2.22 german language not longer works after update (only english showing)
the same with 1.3 beta

How to update via backend? The newest version I can see is from June....

step 1: backup your front- & backend "de-DE.com_easysocial" !!!!!
step 2: "yourdomain.de/administrator/index.php?option=com_easysocial&view=languages" -> "purge cache" .
after this "discover" and you will see the german language update (10.09.2014)...

i found the problem in frontend language file ->
APP_EVENT_FILES_USER_LIKES_YOUR_FILE_SINGULAR="%1$s gefällt Deine Datei..
the " at the end is missing...

now i look for the backend problem......

All my language files which are shown via the update function after deleting the cache do have the date 22.06.2014 ......

with this language file the event area should be worked

this problem happened as transifex treated the quotes for these 2 strings as part of the string itself instead of correctly using them as start/end points.
I manually added them in additionally for german right now so that next time you're pulling these core files it should work fine

All other sections e.g. Invitation of new users are also still in English....there seems to be a general issue with my page

I still can't access your backend because of the missing htaccess details - I don't see an optional info field in the box, just site details and ftp. however I already passed this to mark as there seems to be a problem with the language updater in general, as also all other languages show incorrect values.

for your site I manually patched the frontend and backend language. for the frontend I was able to check this out and it seems to work fine (invite / events etc. all showing up in german now). but if you face any problems with german in particular feel free to get in touch with me here or send me a quick line at skype (joomlaplayground)
