SInce installing EasyBlog 5.0.x I have noticed that Google Webmaster Tools has been objecting to a large number of URLs associated with various EasyBlog items.

Do not misunderstand me, I know how to fix them and have already done so, but thought it worth raising as an observation for yourself and others to be aware of.

I observer that with 5.0.x ALL the URLs are now created in a form as follows: site/index.php/Blog/... which is fine (and probably preferable), however prior to 5.0.x I had a number of similar but different URLs that followed a number of forms:

a) site/index.php/EasyBlog/....
b) site/index.php/Company-Blogs/.... (Where Company is our specific company name)
etc.

I had accumulated a number of different entries in SH404SEF and the Redirect component to handle all these as they had been encountered over the years.

Having cleared these and observed Google over the past week they do not seem to be reoccurring (or to be precise only one or two are, not the hundreds previously seen) so they were (apparently) generated from within the Easyblog component in its various versions since it was first installed several years ago.
HI Geoff Chapman,

Sorry for late reply to this,

In Easyblog 3.9 routing behaviour you can set to use "Use Current Active Menu Itemid", so what I guess is when the user view on your blog post, the blog URL will based on your current menu item id so the SH404SEF capture those URL e.g site/index.php/EasyBlog/.... or site/index.php/Company-Blogs/.

For now Easyblog 5, we already removed that SEO option, so we forced all the URL use to default routing behaviour, so all the blog URL will show something like this format -> site/index.php/Blog/..

By the way, thanks for your sharing.

Thank you for letting me know the reason, I was beginning to wonder if I had missed something somewhere.

Of course having cleaned up all the 'old' links on my site, there is also the question of all the 'old' links that are lurking elsewhere on the web. The ones on Google+ I can and have corrected, but obviously any 'other' site that has chosen to link to a post will no longer be correct and out of my control.

Do not misunderstand me, I think that the new 'URLs' are fine, and probably preferable, but just some what surprised that such a change seems to have been made without some warning or indication to your clients about the change. Did I miss a warning somewhere?
