I've searched the forum and can't find anything related so I hope asking a few questions here is ok.

1.) Is there a way to preview a blog post via the backend before publishing?

2.) Is it possible to show blog excerpts so a visitor sees the first part of a blog post but has to click to read the full post?

3.) Can I edit the text in the email subscription popup box? Full Name should be spelled with two words.

Thanks in advance!

I am really sorry but unfortunately it's not possible currently through the interface but there's a trick here. When you write your blog post at the back end, it would generate a permalink in the permalink field area. Just copy the permalink and access the front end of your site as the site administrator. Then, if your site menu to EasyBlog is http://site.com/blog , you would want to access http://site.com/blog/permalink-here

>> 2.) Is it possible to show blog excerpts instead of the full post. Something to the extent of a 'read more' button...
Yes, it is possible by default when your menu item that links to EasyBlog is the front page layout. Perhaps you might want to configure the read more option in Settings > Layout > Truncation and enable the automated truncation so that you don't have to manually add a read more code when writing your blog post.

>> 3.) Can we edit the text in the email subscription popup box? We would like to avoid the use of the term category because it’s confusing to patrons.
>> They perceive this link as subscribing to a blog, not one category amongst others on the site. Also, Full Name should be two words.
You can customize this from the language file which is located in /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easyblog.ini . All you need to do is to search for the term that you want

Thanks Mark for your quick reply. However there is one issue I see with the work around for the preview: for the permalink to work the blog post would have to be published. So in turn that wouldn't be a preview, correct? Or am I missing something here? TIA!

Hello Jennifer,

Nope, once the blog post is saved, the permalink is already generated, just that normal users wouldn't be able to view the blog post only
