Hello

We are dealing with a huge problem with the combined use of EasySocial and PayPlans!

Here is the situation.

Our online community is for paid members only.
When someone registers he is redirected to pay in order to use the community features. This is fine for us in most cases, BUT...

What happens when someone registers the site and he wants to modify or delete his account without having an active subscription?

For example...

i am registered in the community and my subscription ended!
So till i renew my subscription i do not want to receive notifications by mail about new friend requests etc. Do i have to pay a subscription again to modify the settings of my account?
GDPR issue!!! What if i want to delete my account? I have to activate a new subscription to delete my account?

Please give us a way to have EasySocial as "paid only", but the registered users to be able to modify or delete their account without an active subscription.

Right now our site does not comply with GDPR regulations!

Thank you in advance!
Hi Aikaterini,

The only suggestion I can think of is, when the user's subscription expires, you can configure to allow the EasySocial profile type app in PayPlans to switch the user's profile type to one that is linked to a free plan and does not allow community access: http://take.ms/ZaMCh, http://take.ms/CXLpvd

When they try to access EasySocial, they will be redirected to ES edit profile page which also have the delete account option(provided it is enabled in the profile type). http://take.ms/1VcKy

Forgive me Raymond but i missed that link.

I tried what you suggested but it can not work like this.

Our community has 16 profile types.

Each company that registers, registers with a certain profile type that has to exist even if the company does not have an active subscription, because each profile type has different custom fields.

To be able this way to maintain the profile type for each company, we have to create another 16 profile types and 16 Joomla User Type App instances... one for each profile type like this...

Profile type 1 + Profile type FREE 1 + Joomla User Type App instance for Profile type FREE

What about a way to disable profile editing restriction on PayPlans?

I mean PayPlans to restrict everything as it is right now but allow profile editing! This would be the right solution.

Is it possible?

Hey Aikaterini,

Hm, you do have a point here.
What about a way to disable profile editing restriction on PayPlans?
Maybe you can try using the menu access app method.

Basically in this method you would have to create a menu item for EasySocial's edit profile page, then use PayPlans menu access to restrict EasySocial access to the free plan, but allows access to the edit profile menu item.

menu access app 1 - http://take.ms/rBNXa
menu access app 2 - http://take.ms/bRGQe4

Thank you for your reply and willing to help.

I installed the menu access App and tried to set things up as you suggested, but this will not work either!

Here is why...

You register as profile type A and you are assigned the FREE PLAN

Then you subscribe to PLAN FOR PROFILE TYPE A. When the subscription ends, how will you get the FREE PLAN back automatically?

I believe that we are trying to build a skyscraper with primitive tools here!

Why is it so hard for the PayPlans developers to "condition" PayPlans so that Edit profile page is not restricted?

Easy social has great capabilities. This is why we have chosen it!

And now we can not have a solution that will make our site GDPR compliant?

Another issue that i have noticed is that when a user does not have an active subscription he can not logout using the logout menu!
He can only logout through the logout that exists in the subscriptions history page.

Hey Aikaterini,

I believe the 'Assign Plan' app is able to automatically assign the free plan once the paid plan expires. http://take.ms/JC2XW
Another issue that i have noticed is that when a user does not have an active subscription he can not logout using the logout menu!
I am not sure what is this logout menu, is this a menu item? Can you provide me backend access to check this?

Hello Aikaterini,

I've found your post here via Google search. You have an issue on another Joomla extension regarding an auction website. I can't contact you through that post for some reason. Hopefully you are the same person. I'm using that extension for more than a year now. If you need help, you can contact me at pressto at otenet.gr.

All the best
Dimitris
