Hi guys,

i really have an issue with GDPR compliance in comment function. As i can see there is no chance to add an obligatory clickbox before submitting a comment. According to our (german) gdpr law this function has to be in place. Basically, it’s nothing else than the SBG button. However, as HTML is not supported in the pop up box I even can’t use this as a work around. So please, is it possible to add a clickbox, which the user has to activate before submitting a comment. The text right the box must be flexible and HTML ready. So I can insert a link to my privacy site. A pop up box (like SBC) is not necessary.

Thanx
Marcel
Hi there,

We do have Term and Conditions(TnC) settings as you can see here https://take.ms/Sdozj. Have you tried them? Or maybe i have mis-understand your requirement here, can you provide us with more details so that we can understand them better.

Hi Warith,

thanks for your quick replay.

With SBC (Standard business conditions) I meant exactly the TnC Settings. As the settings don’t accept html code the info box contains endless plain text. Furthermore, the checkbox is titled with “accept our Terms and conditions” (or similar [because i just know the german version]), which in legal terms means something different than “please accept our privacy policy”.

What would be really cool (and according to german law necessary) is a checkbox (like TnC) with a flexible text (like “please accept our privacy policy”) and either a link to the privay policy text or a html ready textbox. I would prefer a simple link, because otherwise I would have to maintain two privacy policy texts.

Althoug it’s in german, i added an image of a contact form, showing the relevant checkbox.

I hope I could express myself a bit better.

Thanx Marcel

Hi there,

Actually, you can change them on this language strings here COM_EASYBLOG_COMMENTS_TNC_AGREE and COM_EASYBLOG_COMMENTS_TNC_TEXT. Do refer here on how to change them https://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/how-tos/how-to-create-language-string-override

As the settings don’t accept html code the info box contains endless plain text

Unfortunately, we dont allow them yet currently.

Maybe you could submit your feature request regarding this simply by creating a new ticket on the forums, and set it to "Feature Request" so everyone else on the site could vote for it as well. The team will usually prioritize features that are in popular demand during the development process of the next major release.

Dear Warith,

thanks for your quick replay. The override solution does it’s job. I’ll open a ticket in feature requests for the html issue.

Thanks Marcel
