Hi there,

We need your help on the following:

Issue 1:
We do not want the users to be able to create new post categories from the front end. We searched in the back end for such an option to disable this function (i.e. users not to create new categories from the front end) but we could not find anything. Is there such an option in the back end?

Issue 2:
We do not want the users to be able to feature, edit, delete, unpublish posts from the front end. At least not the posts of other users. All these options are offerred through the "pencil" function located on the top right of each post. We searched in the back end for such an option to disable these functions (i.e. users not to be able to feature, edit, delete or unpublish the posts of other users at least) but we could not find anything. Is there such an option?

Thank you in advance.
Hey Phivos,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Please find the response to your inquiries below:

You can actually configure this in the ACL of EasyBlog. Click on the ACL at the back end of EasyBlog, click on the user group. Then, click on the "Managing" tab and ensure that the option "Create Categories" is disabled.

This is the same for the above just that the acl rule would be "Moderate all entries in dashboard"

Mark,

As usual you are accurate with a quick response. I know that it is weekend there and I was not expecting a reply during the weekend to be honest. Thank you!

You are most welcome Phivos! Though, just for your information, I am actually trying to find a way to fine tune the "intro" part of the listings when you are using the new composer to blog.

The reason behind us truncating by blocks is to allow your authors to not worry about what's going to be displayed in the intro text. In EasyBlog 3.9, html's are being stripped and some site owner's were complaining that bold tags, underlines and italics were being erased and the reason behind this is because we need to strip the html tags to perform the truncation as there is no accurate way to do this.
