Now that I've use options to alter the ACLs for our editor/manager, from superuser, they are no able to delete comments on the front side. They can still edit comments.

I've tried allowing everything in options and still the delete comment link won't show. Where does the ACL control for delete live?

Alan

Hello Alan,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. You can actually enable the option shown here, http://screencast.com/t/8Nqo5Hio . The message is not very clear at this point of time but in EasyBlog 4.0, we have revamped this quite a bit.

Seems like a logical answer so I turned on "delete comments". However no change, no delete link shows up, just the edit link as before. I'll add site info so you can check it out.

Hello Alan,

Please also provide us with the FTP access to the site and which user are you testing this on? Please provide us with the user account that you are testing this with.

Please provide us with the FTP access because we are going to modify sensitive files and if it messes up, it might mess up the entire site. This is not the risk that we are going to take even if you allow this to happen

Hello Alan,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. After testing this, it looks like the reason that you are not seeing the delete comment link is because the acl for the rule " Allowed to delete blog's comments" is not enabled for the "Registered" group. I have enabled it and the delete link appears fine now.

However, there seems to be another issue with your SH404 instance because it seems to be redirecting all the ajax requests to some weird SEF url.

I'm not very familiar with Ajax, but why would the deletion link show up when the front side user has super access and not with other permissions? This doesn't sound like a SH404 issue to me.

Hello Alan,

Sorry for the confusions, the AJAX issues are separate issues and it has nothing to do with the ACL. The ACL is built this way so that you can assign custom rules to anyone on the site

So why would the delete button show for super and not for lesser acls? Why would this be an Ajax issue?

Hello Alan,

The AJAX issue is a complete separate issue. It has nothing to do with the ACL. I am not really sure why you keep relate them. All I did was explaining to you that the AJAX issues are causing issues when I try to submit a comment / delete a comment / anything that has to do with AJAX requests (It doesn't work because SH404 is redirecting all the AJAX requests).

As to your delete button issue, I think there's some confusions here. In short,

1. If you are a super admin you will be able to see the delete button and delete the comment regardless if you have any acl or not.

2. If you are NOT a super admin, you need to be given the "Delete Comment" rights in order for you to be able to delete the comment.

Commenting and delete comment now work after disabling sh404sef.

Thanks for your help.
