fromtpage post previews too long

Hello

Im am unsure of how to limit the characters of posts showing in frontpage layout. it shows most of if not all of the blog content,. I only want to show a sentence or two for each and have them click on read more to go to bog post page, I did go into menu item of frontpage and limited to 100 characters but has no effect

The setting that you configured in the menu item is actually for the featured posts in the featured slider(http://take.ms/rEtrK), which you do not have because there are no featured posts in EasyBlog.

I believe the truncation settings you are looking for is at EasyBlog's Settings>Layout>Truncation: http://take.ms/U8kO9

If you are using WYSIWYG editors, then you would have to utilize the settings under 'Joomla Editors'.
