i have a less technical but fundamental question about the effect of users becoming "friends" in comparison to "following" other users? und what is shown in the activity steam ?

Being friend with one of the users is actually same in context of what you on their activity streams but the only for following differences are you cannot interact with each other.

You cannot have a conversation or tag them on your post. Being friend, you can achieved this.

..and can i set it in a way that everyone gets all activities in the stream from everyone else without having to follow manually?
