Hello,

Does EasySocial have a 'Friend Suggestion' tool based off the data users provide in their profiles? (Screen shot)

In particular, can we suggest users from one Profile Type (Mentors) to users in another Profile Type (Members)?

Hello Meagan,

The current friend suggestions in EasySocial is based on the friends of friends rather than a profile field value. I believe there is a 3rd party app that does this from https://techjoomla.com/products/people-suggest but not too sure if they are based on custom fields though.

Where / how do I enable the friends of friends suggestion? Is this an email notification?

This is actually the friends widget which will appear on your dashboard. You can enable it by editing the friends app under the Applications section of EasySocial.

Okay.

It looks like it was published.

I just changed it to 'default' and selected both Profile types. (Screen shots.)

Is this what I need to do to enable if for all users?

Is this how I enable all applications for users?

FYI - We only use Docker (not the ES toolbar) for dashboard notifications.

Yep, that is correct and the widget would appear on the user's dashboard. Also, you want to ensure that the widgets are enabled in the app settings, http://take.ms/DT1Bj6

Okay. Those are all enabled. I'll be on the look out to see if I have friend suggestions in the docker notification bar.

So far, I haven't had any friend suggestions.

The friend suggestions does not appear on the docker though. It will only appear on the sidebar of the dashboard
