Hello guys,

just to share with you an ES app, its a custom field to let members join groups when registrating on your websites,
so easy to use, just add the custom field and choose groups :

Here the github :
https://github.com/trep-kalkyl/ES-USR-GRP

I would like to use it for pages too if any one can take this open source project and developp it
Good job By the way, this feature is already part of EasySocial profile types, not really sure how would this app differ?

If I ever have some time off, I will definitely consider porting this for pages too.

Mmmm yes but not this way, actually admins define default groups for a specific profiles type, for websites with one profile type (as mine) all members will join same groups.

This is a custom field which let members choose their groups in registration process, for example we can just add a question "whats your interests" and they choose "cats" "dog" etc., they will be members of the cats and dogs groups automatically.

please check this this screnshot :

I was wondering if we can make the same custom field for pages, in this way people can choose "interests" and "groups" to follow, when they are logged in their activity stream will not be blank but contain all activities related to their interests

Thanks Mark,

Linkedin have a very interesting feature, when you register you choose to follow (infleuncers, industries, groups), that help new members to have a solid connection with the community based on their OWN interests, as a said in a french proverb it will help them "entering the bath"

Let summarize, i imagine three custom fields :

1. Popular members to follow or add
2. groups to join
3. pages (ex companies or industries) to follow

please find here some examples from linkedin, with the rectangular banners and "follow" button user experience is just perfect :

Hello Mark,

can you, please, help us to update this custom field app to work with ES2 ? ot Just tell me what i should update, when i choose some groups in registration with this custom field i am not assigned any one of them.

If you want, you can add it in the App store until other members get it
