Just an update, we have just patched our forums to address the following issues:

1. Issues with unable to unsubscribe from a particular thread
2. Generating e-mail notifications when a reply is edited.

Having said that, while we were working on these issues, we also realized that if you have initially posted a question, you are not automatically subscribed to the thread (This was a bug in EasyDiscuss 3.x) and when we reply to the thread, you might not receive these e-mail notifications.

For newer posts, you will automatically be subscribed to the thread when you post a new discussion or reply. Clicking the unsubscribe would unsubscribe you from the thread.

Cheers!
perfect
when do you plan to release these fixes

We have patched our site and you will no longer get e-mail notifications if you have unsubscribed from the thread.

Hi Mark

Stupid question.
I used to get email notifications when I posted a question in the forum.
At some point...
Maybe a year ago!?!
This stopped.
Is this related or am I being really stupid and missing a setting in "My Dashboard"

thanks

Paul

Hey Paul,

It seems like our transaction mail system (sendgrid) has detected that your hosting provider has marked your e-mail as bounced and this is why it has stopped delivering to your e-mail address.

This was the errors being generated by Siteground:

550 SITEGROUND: No Such mailbox here

I have removed this from the list now.

Hey Mark

Thanks for looking into this.

The weird thing is that now I am getting mails about topics I did not start eg just today:

https://stackideas.com/forums/can-you-revert-back-to-native-joomla
https://stackideas.com/forums/set-joomla-fullname-value-for-account
https://stackideas.com/forums/can-not-create-an-event-in-a-group
https://stackideas.com/forums/no-map-in-user-profile-for-location

From 00:00 German time to 6:20.
I need to post about something else and observe how this behaves when I start a topic!

thanks

Paul

Hey Paul,

It seems like your current user email address already subscribed on our forums site, that is why you received those new thread email notification.

By the way, if you do not want to receive those new thread email notification, I will help you unsubscribed it.

Hey Arlex

It used to be that I just got thread email notification for threads that I started only.

My preference would be:

a) Receive emails for my threads only.

b) If this is not possible then please no threads.

thanks

Paul

Hey Paul,

All you need to do is to click on the "Unsubscribe" link in those threads which you have participated in. Once you have unsubscribed, you will not be receiving those notifications
