There are two changes I would like to make.

Change Number One

1. Limit the number of posts displayed under the categories Contemporary Issues, Theology, Prayers, Homilies, and General to the most recent five posts. The posts older than that would move to a library.

Change Number Two

2. I would like a link to each forum at the top and bottom of the page instead of the single option present now. I've attached a really crude image of the layout I would like to have. Right now there is a single option "Forums". I would like to have each forum listed instead.

3. While working on the forum links [breadcrumbs?] , is it possible to edit the options at the right hand side of the block? The only thing needed there is "More Settings".

Thanks for your help

Mark
Hi Mark,
1. Limit the number of posts displayed under the categories Contemporary Issues, Theology, Prayers, Homilies, and General to the most recent five posts. The posts older than that would move to a library.
By moving to the library, do you mean archiving the 6th latest post and beyond? Unfortunately, there is no archiving feature in EasyDiscuss. On the other hand, I have helped you set the pagination limit of the posts in forums and categories view to 5(http://take.ms/SxVcw).

2. I would like a link to each forum at the top and bottom of the page instead of the single option present now. I've attached a really crude image of the layout I would like to have. Right now there is a single option "Forums". I would like to have each forum listed instead.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to place the links of single categories in EasyDiscuss's toolbar. May I suggest using the EasyDiscuss Navigation module instead?(http://take.ms/qDQjU)

is it possible to edit the options at the right hand side of the block? The only thing needed there is "More Settings".
I have helped you remove the 'notifications', 'conversations' and 'support is current online' string in the settings(http://take.ms/D2gip).
For the 'Ask' button, if you do not want to allow users to create new posts, you can disable the permission in the ACL setting for the related user group(http://take.ms/AXFKa). Once the user does not have creating new post permission, the 'Ask' icon will not display.

Thank you for your help. I have two questions.

[1] I can't find the Navigation module. I've attached a jpeg titled "Navigation". It shows where I have my problem. The Navigation module image is overlapped by the top image. Without knowing what is currently covered up. I can't find it in the various settings. I'm not sure I understand the next step. How/where do I put the different forum titles? I appreciate anything you can do that will help.

[2] Now that each forum will have only five entries (a) how do I implement it on the existing forums? Is there a way to have the software delete all entries over five most recent? Do I have to go through each forum and delete all the posts that exceed the limit we've set? (b) I don't see where I enter the forum titles in the Navigation module.

Hey Mark,
1. The screenshot that you provided is the Toolbar module. You can just search for the navigation module on the modules page(http://take.ms/9XSY8). Unfortunately, you cannot manually choose/enter which category to display in the module(except excluding empty categories). By default it will show all categories.

2. Unfortunately you will have to manually delete them as there are no automatic process that can be configured here. One possible alternative is that you can template override the theme files(several files) so that the total post amount and pagination does not show(provides user the idea that there are only 5 posts)(http://take.ms/kqQGb).

I hate to bother you again, but I've gone through my settings and set them to match the ones you sent.

Unfortunately, I don't have ,the toolbar liuke your screen shot shows me.

Can you look and see what I'm doing wrong? If you have the time, could you go ahead and set it up for me? I'll also need to do the same thing at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for all your help.

Hey Mark,
I have helped you configure and published those 2 ED navigation modules(http://take.ms/meXnP). You can configure which menu to assign the module on if you want. Check it out and let us know how it goes, thanks.
