I want to place the images in my posts adjacent to the text and I want to know how to set the image to align with the bottom of the paragraph. Right now, the images always align with the top of the paragraph and often that results in the image showing up before the text to which it refers. And I don't want to use the full width block below the text because then the image isn't where I want it on the web presentation.

I've used Easyblog off and on for years with my clients and I find this block system to be a huge hassle. I have a client using 3.9.xxx and I won't be recommending that they purchase the upgrade until the bugs are out. I'm still having problems with the system locking up at odd points and not saving my work. I've resorted to taking screen shots just so I don't complete loose the prose. I understand that the blocks make it easier to create mobile friendly pages but it's certain not friendly on the blogger.

For now, please tell me how to align the images to the bottom of the paragraph block. We'll work on the locking up problem again shortly.
Hi Debra,

please tell me how to align the images to the bottom of the paragraph block.

Are you referring this kind of image positioning inside the composer, http://screencast.com/t/WTfsJYtVM ? If yes kindly refer to my video link below on how to achieve it.

Hi Ezrul,
That's not what I'm after. Let's say you have two paragraphs as you do in the video. I want to align the image to the bottom of the second paragraph, so that the ending text from the first paragraph flows around the top of the image. That way, if I have a cover image, when the post appears on a mobile device, I don't have two images stacked together but the image will be visually connected with the first paragraph.

Actually, what I really want is for the image to appear after the first paragraph in my post on mobile but next to my first paragraph on a PC. And as I've said, if I have an image shown next to the first paragraph on the PC and a cover photo, the two images get stacked together on a mobile presentation and it looks like junk.

If you look at my last post, I had a cover photo on that post but took it down because it would get stacked with the airplane image in the mobile presentation. And the 100% width block below the text block doesn't solve the problem because it looks junky on the PC presentation (too big!) - it needs to be next to the text on the PC presentation.

How can we set where the image is place vis-a-vis the text so we don't have the image stacking problem?

Hey Debra,

Sorry but I am a little confused here but let me just get this straight. In short,

1. Image should appear beside the text on Desktop
2. Image should appear above the text on mobile devices.

Is this what you are after? By the way, the ftp access doesn't work for me. Can you please advise?

Hi Ezrul,
I want to be able to direct the system to place the image above or below the text on a mobile device.

Right now, if the image is adjacent to the text on the desktop (per the drop block placement layout), it shows up above the text on mobile. But there are times, particularly if I'm (1) using a cover photo and (2) have a photo next to the text on the first paragraph that I absolutely do not want the image to be above the text on mobile. This is because when there is a cover photo and a photo next to the text in the first paragraph on the desktop, I'll have two photos stacked on top of each other in the mobile presentation and it looks like junk. Try it out and you'll see what I mean. It looks really unprofessional.

Hey Debra,

I was also having the same dilemma when I am debugging another client's site earlier. What I do think that makes more sense is that when a post cover exists, it shouldn't be taking the first image of the blog post.

Would that make the blog look more professional?

Hi Mark,
I'm not sure if I understand "shouldn't be taking the first image of the blog post".

I want to be able to designate whether the image appears above or below the paragraph on a mobile layout. And I don't want to have to hide an image just because it's in a mobile layout. Other photo placement options would be nice but this is really important in integrating the cover photo and a photo for the first paragraph with mobile and desktop layouts.

Are you hiding the first image in the blog post?

Hey Debra,

Can you update to 5.0.31? I have applied some patch on this release. In essence,

1. If a blog post has a cover picture, it will not display any other pictures from the post.
2. If a blog post does not have a cover picture, it will pick the first image from the post.

Nooooooo! I want all of my photos to appear on the post, where I want them to be. I'm not going to apply the patch. If I have a cover photo and 3 photos in the post, I want them alllll to appear, mobile or desktop.

This is not a solution.

Hey Debra,

I am actually referring to the "listing" view and not the "entry" view . On the entry view, all the images would appear

If you are referring to the listing view, are you trying to display the rest of the images at the end of the text as opposed to the post cover which should be displayed above the text?

I want to determine the location of the image vis-a-vis the text when a visitor looks at my blog. I don't care what it looks like in the editing view. I've been working in html for a decade - it's always a mess. The only thing that matters is what it looks like when someone looks at the website (not the entry area).

Look at http://www.debramcneill.net/index.php/reservation-paranoia on your desktop and your smartphone. On the desktop, the image is adjacent to the text on the right - fine. On my smartphone, the image is BEFORE the text. If I have a cover photo, then I'll have two images before the text - looks like junk! I want to be able to tell the system to put the image that's in the block next to the text to show up after the paragraph on the mobile presentation.

I really hope you didn't really change the program not to show photos if there is a cover photo. You're going to have a bunch of really angry customers. You might want to change it back before anyone notices.

Hey Debra,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply. There is actually no way to tell the system to display the images after the text if you are using a mobile view versus a desktop view as there is no way to detect the screen resolution using php.

There are some alternatives here. Can't we have the option to have the images blocks that are next to text blocks placed after (or at the end of) those text blocks? Then they were be at the end of the text block on the mobile presentation and embedded side-by-side the end of the text block on a laptop presentation?

Ooops! Forgot to include the link - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1504459/getting-the-screen-resolution-using-php

This has solutions for determining the screen resolution.

Hey Debra,

The solution that you posted is not viable at all because the script needs to wait for the javascript to send the viewer's information back to the server before it is able to render the page. While this solves the issue with the layout, you will have a major issue with the loading time of the site.
