Hi

This is something I have no idea how to fix or if is normal behaviour (I hope not).

I have created a demo post a poem that is on a few lines <p></p> and in the article view it looks normal. When you look at it on the frontpage view it has had its formatting removed so it is just a block of text.

How can I get a normal preview so the HTML/formatting is maintained?

Thanks for all the help
As long as automated truncation is enabled, EasyBlog needs to strip off html codes. There is no way anyone is able to truncate the text while still retaining the html codes. Even if they are able to, 99% of the time, there would be unclosed html codes (We face the same exact problem in the older versions of EasyBlog)

Your best bet is to add a read more in your post. This is the only accurate way of splitting the content.

May i know what is this page? http://take.ms/WjHWu

If that is Showcase module, it will respect the truncation setting from the module itself.

If would like to show the same formatting on the slider, you can add the read more tag from your blog post, so it will remain the same formatting where it display on your slider or listing page.

Hi Arlex,

The images I have shown you are the main blog page create by a menu item called (Posts) Frontpage

When you create a post you get the option to pout them on the frontpage.

I have managed to increase the number or words/characters but the stripping of html and new lines still occurs.

Your colleague Mark is working on another issue for me and I have created a demo site for him. I have included the details in the original post for you to have a look.

Can you have a look a and see what is going on. I would expect html and new lines not to be stripped.

thanks

That makes sense, I have also just tried it.

What I think would be good is if you update the truncation tooltip to say that truncation removes newlines and all html.

I would be helpful some documentation for frontend users (User Guide), how to actually use easyblog rather than just set it up (Admin Guide).

Awesome support as normal
