Currently it is not possible to enforce post cover uploads for authors.

Thank you @raymond, please add this as an upcoming feature option.

I think most would agree that because of EasyBlog being a Social Blogging System (or the capability to be) it makes sense to be able to enforce certain standards. Blog posts without covers really don't carry the same balance in the system as one with it.

Yes, you are correct @ssnobben, but it is ugly and from an Editors perspective you want your articles to be consistent with either a photo or video cover.

@ssnobben: well, that is not the same - having a fallback image will actually support the tendency that some users wont upload their own blog cover, because "there is already something there".
Setting the cover to mandatory is a greatly missed feature for a social blogging component like EasyBlog, it should be high priority;)

There are different user scenarios so it would be nice to have a flexible solution.

If you for example have automatic feeds import from other sources it's difficult to control non existing user cover mandatory options isn't it?

Yes sure - it definitely should simply be a setting in the config.
