Seems like your inquiry is more toward to opinion/suggestion. In my opinion, if you want to utilize more in commenting system I will more suggest to use Komento where you can setting it more specifically in the component itself

I think stackideas should stop having seperate commenting systesm across their software portfolio and just use komento. This would resolve this issue and stop wasting resources.

Make a free version of komento that works with all of stackideas software so people can use that for comemnts and you can have a pro version that supports 3rd party software aswell.

I have used Komento because it works across all of my joomla components allowing me to have one place to control my comments instead of many different ones.
