Follow someone - what does it mean in detail

Hi,

some users of my page asked me what does it mean to "follow some one". Could someone give me a hint waht to answer in detail?

So, if I am already a friend I don't need to follow?

Basically yes, because the current 'Follow' feature is very basic at this point of time, if the user A followed user B :
- you can see this user B any update on your dashboard > following filter
- following widget will suggest you which people can follow.

By right, it will send a notification to the user A, user B created something or updated profile page and something else, this is something we plan to implement this in the future.

Hi Horst Fuchs,

Following mean is what you do when you want to see a person's updates but you aren't actually friends. You see their posts, but they don't see yours,some sort of like a one-way friendship. It's an easy way for fans to follow celebrities or public figures, without that person needing to respond in kind
