Looks like your php isn't compiled with mbstring support. This is what you should do:

1. Recompile php with mbstring support
2. Restart apache
3. Try embedding a link again.

Hi Mark, I enabled MB string but when adding youtube video it does not pull the title and description of the video from youtube.

Any idea why?

You should use the full youtube url rather than the shortened url. As for the missing title, what is the video link that you were trying to share?

Looks like Youtube is actually preventing access from your server. This is what was returned by Youtube when we try to crawl the video, http://screencast.com/t/ZxjCrRzT1VM3

is there anywhere in easy social i can enter the youtube api key to prevent this?

Unfortunately right now this is not possible This is often the case when Youtube thinks your block of IP address is possible spam

i hope there is some type of work around soon, its makes the feed/site look broken, users are not happy

I would suggest that you request your hosting provider to look into this or switch your IP address block There is nothing we can do about this as this is beyond our control

These fixes have already been added in the latest builds and I just tested short urls like https://youtu.be/QtXby3twMmI locally and it works fine

I am running the latest build but when i look at the element when embedding short you-tube URLS the code shows https://www.youtube.com/embed/?feature=oembed for the link.

Does normal youtube links work for you? If I recall correctly your issue has nothing to do with short urls.

Mark LONG URLS always worked, they just have the title 'Youtube' but the videos link correctly and play

And have the same issue, the posts are still on the site if you want to see.

i am not sure how you posted a short URL and it worked? Maybe we are doing something wrong? Users are leaving my site in large numbers because of this, i have gone from 70+ concurrent users to 30 in a matter of 2 weeks. The site is on the verge of shutting down because of this.

no short URLS can be posted, there is other threads on your forum with the same issue like the one i posted above, same symptoms everything.

If you are able to do it maybe we are doing it wrong? pasting the URL in the posting box and clicking post after it does its thing. Can you PLEASE post a video on how to post it correctly. I dont want this to kill my site. It was growing quickly until this issue occurred. i REALLY need help. How do I replicate the same test you conducted via my server? It would be handy if I can reproduce this test from your screenshot. This will allow me to talk to youtube or my hosting company. It will assist me in my trouble shooting and finding a way around it. I can see your screenshot I need too been able to conduct the same test. Where is this screenshot from and how I get there like you have? At least this will help me.

Why do long urls work on my site nut not short urls. If there a way I can stop easy social pulling thumbs for short youtube links so it is just a straight link with no preview? Is this possible?
