Good day,

I was wondering if it is possible to redirect users who log in for the first time to a specific page. The reason for this is that I have a double sign-up type of set-up which requires first time users to land on a league sign up page. I can easily achieve this with auto-login but i want users to confirm their emails first if they aren't signing in with a social button.

Is anything like this possible?

Thanks,

Fidel
Hi there,

Can you try to replaced attached file and change code on line 56, change to your designated URL at this path ../components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/emails/registration/approved.php

By the way, what i have edited is, when the user get "Approved" emails, when they click "Login Now", they will redirected to your designated URL set on the attached file. Please give it a try and see how it goes

Thanks for this awesome idea. I will test this over the next few days and let you know how it turns out.

If all is well, how do I create a template override for this file so that it does not get overwritten with the next update?

Thanks again.

Hi there,

It seems that i cant access your test site's backend. I suspected that your /edit-player-profile page is not accessible by public, that why it redirect you to login page. Please give it a check and see how it goes.

By the way, if the problems still persist, please provide us with your backend access for further check on this issues.

Hi,

That did the trick but the issue is that I need users to be logged in inorder for that page to work properly. I may need to find a workaround outside of easysocial unless there is someway to configure first time login behaviour.

Thanks for your help

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

My colleague is not around during the weekend, perhaps you can update your Joomla backend access at your first post and explain again what is your current requirement ?

For example : what is the next step when the user login from your site, is it need to redirect the user go to a specific page?

Hi Alex,

Thank you for responding on the weekend.

I need my users to be directed to /edit-player-profile page on their first login after activating their account. I have found a plugin which I can purchase to do this but I wanted to see if there was a cleaner way to achieve this using the easysocial component.

The fix which Abdul suggested worked in theory but since the /edit-player-profile page is for registered users only, I can't set it to public access or the the page doesn't work properly.

So to summarize, I need all first time logins for a user account to be re-directed to/edit-player-profile

Thanks again for such amazing support.

I have updated my info too in the first post

You're welcome Fidel, if you would like to achieve this only after they activated their account then redirect it to this /edit-player-profile page at the first time when they login, unfortunately that was not possible to achieve this in current system.
