I have set the maximum for uploading files in the Team group to 80 MB. I can upload pptx files under 8 MB. Larger files over 10 MB will show the error message - see screenshot.
What could cause the problem?
Hey there,

I noticed that your File section in Profile Type's ACL does not have "Maximum File Size For File Uploads" which is supposed to have and this allow you to set how big is the file allowed to upload for the users.

I noticed and believed that the reason it does not have "Maximum File Size For File Uploads" is because your EasySocial is out of date.

Do you consider to upgrade it to the latest version?

If you did some customisation before, I would suggest you that backup those customisation file first before you perform this Easysocial update.

Hi Irwin
I have duplicated the page under https://snetz.ch/komkoo/
I have maximum upload size under Profile Category Team under Profile User Snetzmitglied Sozialwesen set to 80 MB.
The problem still exists. The message appears: file can not upload ... file size too large

Therefore, upgrading to the latest version of ES is not the solution:(
Kind regards
Martin

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Perhaps you can provide us one of the user login account which having this issue so I can better have a check this on your duplicated site?

Because i did tried login as this temp user, then i upload 11MB file in this duplicated site, it seems i can able to upload successfully without show any warning, you can check my screenshot here : http://take.ms/2ZAjQ (that zip file i download from Joomla here https://downloads.joomla.org/)

This temp user is under this profile type 'Mitglied SNETZ - Sozialwesen' and this maximum upload file size you set to 50MB (http://take.ms/lHzYy), then the system will allow this user upload the file size below 50MB.

And i checked other profile types, it seems like it set maximum upload file size only 8MB.

Perhaps you can re-check again.

Keep us update if the issue still persists and provide us that user login access.

By the way, it seems like you provided us that FTP login credentials no longer work.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I have found that the problem occurs only in the group stream. The solution is to set a maximum upload size under apps, file, group from 8 MB to 50MB.
If I understand that correctly, that means
The app setting in files / group overrides the user and group setting regarding file upload size when uploading a file in the stream of a group

Hey there,

We apologized that we miss out your first question and we thought you were saying users can't upload files on user dashboard.

If it happens on users, then we need to refer user profile type setting.

If it happens on the groups, it will respect the application setting first.

May I know is your issue has been solved after you do some changes to the setting?
