Hello,

When using Discussion >> Your Response >> file browser
if you mark 2 files or more for INSERT,
ONLY one file will be added to the response box.

If you insert file after file, it will be displayed in sequence without space
>> could you add <new line> so each file will be displayed in a line?

BIG PROBLEM !!!

We work with people over 45 years old.
The File Browser and UPLOAD file is a confusing process for them and they complain all the time !!

Could you add a normal upload file to the response box? please?
Choose a file ... start upload ... submit

Please advise.
Udi
Hi Udi,

Good catch! I've logged this into our issue tracker and our developer will take an action for this. For the second inquiry I will suggest as well in the ticket

Please forward it to Mark.
He is aware of our specific requests regarding Group' functionality.
Today we have faced many complaints regarding that issue.

Thank you Muhammad.

I just want to be sure regarding the ticket you have opened:

Adding a normal upload file to the response box and submit it
Choose a file ... start upload ... auto-submit

Please advise.

Hey Arlex,
You cannot be sorry because it's the weekend.

The current upload is quite complex ...

Please adopt the standard as facebook does - see attached.
It is in addition to the current file browser.

thank you

Thanks for understanding.

Actually you can't use Facebook to compare with Easysocial group discussion creation page.

If you referring this Facebook part http://take.ms/qvOqJ , Easysocial actually used the same method http://take.ms/8rYi9 .

The reason why i mentioned that can't use to compare with Easysocial group discussion creation page is because that is different purpose for this, by default it will use bbcode editor.

What our goal is if the system render this bbcode editor, it will allow user to upload what files they want first, then user can able to choose which image file they want to insert into the discussion content, so next time they do not need to re-upload those image again if they would like to use back those image.

Since you did mentioned that your site user felt that is complex process, perhaps you can consider to switch to another editor if this might be help? At least they can able to preview the content through other editor e.g. JCE editor http://take.ms/XP1rG

You can switch this editor from your site backend > Easysocial > application > search for 'discussion' > edit that group discussion app (http://take.ms/CRVJL) > composing tab > switch to another editor (http://take.ms/kQdnc) e.g. JCE editor

By the way, I already mentioned this into our issue tracker ticket, we will see if we can do something about it in the future.

Hi Arlex,

You are doing a great job with easysocial !!!

I find the current group response as a good solution.

BUT our audience is mid-age and they find it confusing ...
Our services are based on groups and they don't succeed in uploading their works to a group discussion.

I just ask to add the mechanism you already have to the response box.

very simple by the way
Thank you

Hi

Any news from the developers?

It is a big issue !!!

Our members (people over 45 years old ...) face difficulties
to upload documents to their discussions !!!

And they are cursing me all the time.

You already have it !!! Just adjust it to a discussion ...

thank you

Hi Udi,

The fix for multiple files to be insert into the discussion has been included in the EasySocial 2.2.4 onward

Thank you, Fadhli
I'm aware to the fix and it works fine.
But the mechanism is quite complex for my users.
You can see Arlex reply above,
but I need an icon to upload ONE file to the discussion
directly from the disk.
Could you discuss it with Arlex and your developers?
It is quite urgent.

thank you
Udi

Hi Udi,

I've discuss with our developer regarding this, where they stated that this feature will be redundant as we already got the file upload in the media manager http://take.ms/pxadX

Hi Fadhli,
that's the problem with developers ... they're not the users.

If the users find that the current file upload is unclear and uncomfortable
we have to give them the way they can use.

I migrated from Jomsocial to easysocial for that reason ONLY.

And Mark understands when I ask for a feature to meet the user way of use.

We use the Groups extensively.
Currently, they do not insert the uploaded files to their discussions.

So please add the option to upload ONE file directly from the computer to the discussion.

You already have the code ...

thank you

Hello Udi,

I am sorry but we will still need to consider whether to add this into our core or not. It is not as simple as copy the codes over to make it work. It's more complicated than that. Thanks for your understanding.

Hi Nick,
Thank you for the response.
I'm your field support ... especially regarding social groups.
After tens of years at the S/W industry, users experience take you up or down ...

As you adjust the discussion streaming and now they love it (not complaining anymore...)
Currently they do not upload materials to their discussions.

Any idea what to do?

Waiting for your decision.
thank you

Hello Udi,

I would suggest you to add this in feature request and we will evaluate it again as one team instead of me alone as this requires major addition to the editor.

Hi Nick,
Sorry for the delayed response ... Happy New Year.

Unfortunately, we need a quick solution ...
Our users are not using the current option they have !!!
They just hate it and we are gonna get it in our face ...

Uploading a single file from a disk is not supposed to be big deal.

If you direct me to Ask A Feature I'll add it there
But we need to solve it.
thank you

Hello Udi,

I am sorry but since this is considered as feature request, we will need to really evaluate this whether or not to include this in core. The upload button we have currently is more advance than the one-click-button to upload (as suggested by you). Look at it as File Manager instead, where users will be able to manage, reuse, delete their uploaded files. For me, it's a plus one for them.

For now, to let your users know about the upload in file manager, I would suggest you to create a blog post that can educate them on how to use it. This somehow can help encourage them to upload using the file manager.

However, if you insist on adding that button, you can always request for a quote from us at https://crm.stackideas.com and select "Customizations". Our sales person would be glad to send you a quote for the customizations that you have requested.

Hope this helps.
