Hi There,

I created a field app by copying the address field. It install just fine and language file is loaded in the backend when I added my custom field address. The issue is when I look at my profile in the frontend, the language constants are not being translated. The language file (en-GB.plg_fields_user_my_address.ini) is not loaded in the front. So I check how the default custom field address translates the placeholder constants and I found it was added to the en-GB.com_easysocial.ini. Is this true to all Custom Fields App?

How do I make ES framework load user field app language file in the frontend?

Thanks,

Jackson
Hello Jackson,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Yes all the field language constant is located inside en-GB.com_easysocial.ini file.

Hi Ezrul,

If that's the case then how does 3rd party developers go around this? I assume nobody created a field app yet? Since ES design is to extend beyond default functionality, I guess ES field app language file design is flawed. Don't you think? I as a 3rd party developer will not touch the en-GB.com_easysocial.ini file since it will just get overwritten in the upgrade.

Can you let Mark know please.

Thank you!

Jackson

Hello Jackson,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Thank you for the heads up on this. I will let our developers know about this and hopefully they can do something about it.
