Hi;

I started with a clean new root server configuration: to make ffmpeg run I not to install it on root server. Please could you install FFmpeg on my root server since I don´t know how to do it. I have several backups and my side is only in developer mode.

Regards Peter
Hello Peter,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I managed to install ffmpeg for you on the server but for some reasons, it seems like http://www.ecavall.de is running in a jail environment and it cannot execute the binary in /usr/bin/ffmpeg . Is it possible for you to check with Plesk if there is a way to not run the site on a jailed environment?

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your help Mark. I am afraid I even don´t know what jailed environment is? Perhaps it would be a solution if you log in to Plesk panel. Everything is in English and I have always run several server images and backups for test environment. Log-in to Plesk by using this link: https://82.165.74.60:8443

username is: root
Password I have sent in last message.
If my request is outside your range of customer support that is fine. In this case, you may give me some more details what I could do. Ride now there is also a new message that video upload limit in php.ini is set too low.

Thanks again Mark

Hi Mark,

Sorry, for jumbling into or for any interruption
BTW, where could I download the FFmpeg, a URL? Or would it possible to send me through as attachments here?

Regards,
Imran

Hello Peter,

I have tried googling possible ways to allow a jailed (chroot) environment to run other commands and this is what I have found, https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213416489 . Is it possible for me to try this out? Sorry, but I do not have much experience with Plesk

Imran,

FFmpeg on a linux machine is just like an executable file on windows machine. Ideally, you should compile ffmpeg on the server. This also means you need root access on the server. Here's a guide that you could try to follow, http://root.uabid.com/compile-ffmpeg-on-centos-6-x/

Hi Mark.

yes, shure Mark you have all the freedom to try out everything you want to make FFmpeg run with in Plesk environment on ecavall toot server. It is also a god experience to find out how Ffmpeg behaves in Plesk / CentOs environment. I have seen you limited video uploads to 2MB in pho.ini. Perhaps we have to increase this value a bit.

On Ecavall there only a view test members and backups are constantly saved with cronjobs. So just go ahead to see the results. If things go wrong I just reinstall CentOS and Plesk, no problem.

Thanks Peter, I have managed to link the ffmpeg binaries into the chroot environment using the tool that Plesk provided, https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213909545--HOWTO-How-to-add-new-programs-to-a-chrooted-shell-environment-template

As for the php upload limit, there seems to be a hard limit imposed by Plesk and upon googling this, it can be configured as shown here, https://www.conetix.com.au/support/article/plesk-12-increase-php-upload-limit

I can't seem to access https://82.223.22.159:8443 . Not sure if the server is blocking me. Are you able to access the plesk panel?

Unbelievable that you finally managed this issue for me and it works. Many thanks for your kindly help and support.
Login with Plesk is quite easy. First access Plesk Panel wit this link: https://82.165.74.60:8443
If you get a message about secure login please accept. Some browser like Firefox ask for permission.

Okay, it seems like if you are running php7 fpm, it is not possible to alter these settings from Plesk. I had to modify the ini file. It is now set to 120mb

Can you give this a try again now Peter?
